Winter lay up in Norheimsund, N 60°22’ E 06°09’, Hardangerfjord, West Coast, Norway, Europe
Thank you for contacting us regarding winter lay up in Norway.
Since 1999 yachts from Russia to France to USA have wintered at our sheltered, floating docks. Here in our deep fjord we have no ice, almost zero winds, but you have to prepare your yacht for some (hopefully) heavy snowfalls gradually turning into wet, wet rain (not so hopefully).
Our current price-system is as follows:
- NOK 144,90 pr metre pr month,
- Winter season is Sept 1st - May 31st.
- Maximun payment period is 5 months, even if you stay through our whole 9 month off-season from Sept 1st to May 31st.
- If you need additional time, into high season (June-August), it may be discussed and the monthly winter-price usually applies.
- If you choose to be connected to electricity during winter, payment in advance of expected consumption with clearance by meter at end of period.
- Payment for whole period and electricity at arrival.
Customs let you sail in Norway for three seasons (two years). Please find more info at https://www.toll.no/en/goods/boat/storing-a-foreign-recreational-boat/.
We may assist with the forms "Storage location (please attach confirmation from the person responsible) and Person responsible (with telephone number)" , but must stress that customs and clearance is yacht’s responsibility.
Our websites are
www.noport.no and www.norib.no
As the marina is run voluntarily as a non-profit by keen yachtsmen with constrains on our time budgets, the websites may not be totally updated, but you will find a webcam.
Last years we have been able to include, at no additional cost, access to our security cams so you may supervise your yacht 24/7 live on your smartphone.
There are plenty of berths so no booking in advance is required, but if you give a word about your ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival) we will inform our voluntary crew.
